Online Safety
The online world is posing an ever-increasing risk to children and it is important that schools, parents and carers work together to take an active role in teaching children about online dangers and how to act safely when using the internet.
At Millbrook Primary School and Nursery, we are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to protect our pupils online and we are working with National Online Safety to become an accredited school for Online Safety. There are several ways we intend to do this:
- We will provide parents and carers with Monthly Online Safety Newsletters, which can be seen below. These aim to keep parents informed about the latest online risks to their children and ways in which parents/carers can keep their children safe.
- Parents can access the Parental Controls Booklet (shown below), which details how to change and manage the settings on devices and apps so that you can safeguard your child/ren more effectively.
- Parents can access an Online Safety course for FREE through National Online Safety. If you would like to do this, please read the documents titled ‘National Online Safety Letter for Parents and Carers’ and ‘National Online Safety Parents Guide.’ These outline how you can access the course free of charge.
- Parents can also read the #WakeUpWednesday updates, which are titled below as, 'All you need to know about...'
