Nursery Group Pages
Our Daily Timetable for Butterflies:
8.30am / 12.30pm - Doors open, welcome and self-registration.
8.45am / 12.45pm - 'Key Group Time'. This includes our thematic learning, sharing of core texts and subject-specific activities.
9.30am / 1.30pm - Child-initiated learning. Children can choose where they want to play and learn, and which activities to take part in. The Nursery team support them in their play and interactions. Children are offered a drink and snack during this time.
11.00am / 3.00pm - Move and Groove.
11.10am / 3.10pm - Story and Songs
11.30am / 3.30pm - Doors open, collection and end of the session.
Butterflies (30 Hours):
Butterflies that remain for lunch, sit at tables within the Nursery for their meal. They also have some outdoor play after lunch in the Nursery garden.
As some Butterflies attend for 30 hours, we plan additional activities throughout the week based on the children's interests, our theme and their next steps. The Butterflies staff adapt the afternoon sessions on a weekly basis to meet the needs and interests of the children.
Additional Activities in Nursery
P.E.
Butterflies use the School Hall once a week to complete a formal P.E. session in preparation for school.
Forest School
Children in Butterflies take part in weekly Forest School sessions. These sessions are planned and delivered to support the children in 'Understanding the World' - learning about nature, the changing seasons and the local environment.
Welly Walks
Children in Caterpillars and Cocoons go on weekly welly walks around the school grounds. They explore the school field, our School Garden and our designated Forest School sites. Welly walks are part of mini adventures linked to 'Understanding the World' and 'Physical Development'.
