Leave in Term Time
Significant changes to the national framework for school attendance penalty notices, come into effect from Monday, 19th August 2024. These changes will impact how unauthorised absences are managed.
Key Changes:
- New National Threshold: Schools will now consider issuing a penalty notice if a child has 10 unauthorised absence sessions within a 10-week rolling period.
- Stricter Rules for Term-Time Leave: Taking your child out of school during term time will be more restricted. You will need to seek permission from the Headteacher in advance, and this will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
